Teran
Teran is the most represented autochthonous black variety of Istria.
Teran is an unusually late variety that gets its perfect balance of sugars and acids during large number of sunny days. Our teran plantations receive every ray of sunshine, if necessary longer so that we could make teran exceptional.
Teran has a characteristic ruby color and is accompanied by a distinctly fruity aroma of cherries, sweet cherries and black currants. He is moderately alcoholic and tannic, full-bodied. Its aromas reach their maximum expression at a temperature between 18-20 °C. Dishes that go well with teran are Istrian prosciutto, cheese and certainly vension, goulash and other stronger dishes.
